I do not come from affluent families, relatives and, of course, will not be rich.

On that day, and his family to Penang to attend my cousin's wedding, of course, paid a courtesy call on each family.

Dayi Ma gave birth in the big cousin and the cousin, her husband's death on the very young. She left behind two children to grow up custody of one person. We go home to visit her.

Where (figure) is well-known "Daqiang Po" (Par Cheng Bor), the cemetery is said that in the past, the Government was the establishment of low-cost flats, so that the poor have a roof over their heads.

20 to 30 years living in the rental and purchase housing, durable repair. Is filthy dirty dirty look.

Dark elevator. This orderly and Singapore, the HDB clean and tidy, very different.

Looking across the balcony is the cemetery. Da Yima lived in the 10th floor of the balcony from morning to night, very windy.

Back to Penang to visit relatives on several occasions, I have lived here. Late at night when fierce wind to beat the door to the balcony, quite horrible.

10 from the floor, look, the rusty fence and staggered to an antenna messy.

I often wonder, was born in Singapore, have been used to tidy living by the rules of the Singaporean, whether it can adapt to this kind of living environment.

Sunday (28/9/2008)
We woke up at around 8am local time (9am Singapore time) and headed to the buffet breakfast at the Coffee Shop. The free flow of complimentary buffet beakfast will runs until 10.30am local time.

Food like porridge, fried rice, bacons, sausages, fried meehoon, nasi lemak, different types of bread, cakes, fruits, fruits juice, coffee, tea, milk, cereals as well as 3 live cooking kiosks, namely egg station (to cook scrambled egg and omellete), pancake station, sunny side up station (egg as well) can be seen there.

Today's schedule wasn't really well planned, we just want to experiece few things like kayaking, ATV, Pasar Oleh Oleh, dip into the sea and swimming pool, if have time then one more round of air rifle and archery before 5pm as all outdoor activities ended at this time.

Pasar Oleh Oleh to the bus in a bad way, all vehicles were waiting to get off our access to other buses.
Our first expedition was to go Pasar Oleh oleh, however the bus broke down at the point of 2km away from our destination. Some tourists even took pictures of the unfortunate bus, it was so funny.

We just walk around and see that the purpose of his "journey" of the fee is per person SGD6. This is due to the purpose-built for tourists, so we asked if going to Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia's true that cities and a market, can call Texaco, the distance of about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
This Pasar is built by the resort, mainly for tourists to have a feel of Bintan's market, meaning it is a fake market, you can find lots of survenier, bikinis, clothes, restaurants, spa and massage services (this is cheaper than resort, full body massage is only SGD28 wherareas resort charge SGD58). Frankly, if you don't have anything to buy, you can omit this. But the good thing is you can get a cab to their real market at Tanjung Pinang.

About 1:00 or so, we are back to the resort, had to play Action ATV Adventure of the off-road sports car, but this time it was, so the book before 16:00 to play. That is why we go to play a row. We are not a picture. : mrgreen:
We then headed to play Sea Kayaking. Obviously those in the picture are not us, we got to wear the stupid life jacket, it's just that we forgot to take picture, haha. Charge for kayaking is SGD18 per hour.

Action ATV Adventure here we come!!!

Staff on driving methods, the distance is 1 hour, the two charges SGD80, after we follow his journey.
We paid SGD80 for 2 persons of one hour adventure. I was so anticipated to hop onto this while pretenting listening to the briefing by the staff of Action All Terrain Vehicles (ATV). If you know how to drive an Auto-car, it is nothing different for you. Unless you never try driving before .... just like Munkey!

An exciting journey is about to begin!
Yes, brave girl go first. I took charge of the ATV for the first half an hour.

We have gone through the woods, the rugged mountain road, and the breathtaking slopes of 80 degrees! In fact, this is the slow motion, shock degrees 20 minutes.
Slope! The staff helped us to took this picture. He asked me to just press the brake without acceleration, so the ATV won't run too fast for him to capture this, haha.

We crossed the sea side and drove on the sand!

I took this picture while Munkey was driving. (Yay, I got to credit him and let people know he did drive!)

This was his FIRST TIME driving, and the road was far more bumpy than those in the city. : mrgreen: Well done! : lol:

More information can log onto Action ATV Adventure

Finish off the excitement of the off-road sports car, we went to sea foam, the evening sun drying, and then to enjoy the swimming pool Jacuzzi.

In the evening to the hotel's downstairs dining restaurant South Korea.
Dinner settled at the Korean restaurant named JeJu.

Spicy Seafood Miantang
This is "Champang" a spicy seafood udon with prawns, oysters, squids, spring onions and onions.

Peanut cold
This is a cold noodle with peanut soup. The texture of the soup is too sticky.

Korean side dishes
Two side dishes, kimchee and Korean rice jelly.

Monday (29/9/2008)
We checked out at 12pm after enjoyed a sumptious buffet breakfast again.
Took ferry back, and it was roughly 5pm Singapore time.

Things / activities we wanted to try but didn't manage to have more time:

Enjoy watching hot dancers at the La Luna outdoor pub on Saturday night.
Go kart - S $ 28/pax - 10 mins (see link)
Buggy ride around S $ 25/hour (See link)
South Bintan Heritage Tour - S $ 84 (includes 2-way land transfers, fully guided tour, local lunch in Tanjung Pinang, mineral water & local snack and insurance coverage) (See link)
Traditional Fishing Tour - S $ 40 (includes 2-way land transfers, fully-guided tour, mineral water and insurance coverage) (I heard this is pretty exciting as they will teach you method of fish catching) (See link)

Bintan to play in terms of safety, drink, or do not have to worry. However, the most important thing is to have a choice of a number of indoor and outdoor activities of the hotel. This is because the Bintan in the north of all hotel and drink all these areas are established for the visitors, is everything.

However, Bintan would like to watch the local villages into local life will be a little inconvenient for passengers. Because almost all accommodation is located in the north, while the real towns and villages are located in tourist areas to leave at least 1-1 hours and a half away. So here it can be said that a radius of ten are not country folk, even if there are only engaged in hotel and tourism industry staff, Ha ha.
All resorts are built at the Bintan Resorts area, the rest of the map are none accessible if you are staying at the resorts. You'll only see "fake" Malay village, market, shop, restaurant and stuff within the Bintan Resort area. Thus you got to hire a cab to bring you out of this touristy area.

Nirwana Garden Resort is located at the left side of the Bintan Resorts area, and I think there is also some other 5-star hotels like Bintan Lagoon Resort, Banyan Tree are located at the right side.

Tanjung Uban is a fisherman's village, and Tanjung Pinang is Bintan's major town. If you want to go Tanjung Pinang / Tanjung Uban directly from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, there are different companies offering direct ferry as well, meaning you don ' t need to select BRF but other company over the counters.

Continued from people in the Bintan.

Saturday (27/9/2008)
After so many rants from friends and colleagues of Bintan Island being their most boring trip ever, Munkey and I decided to find out for ourselves and get a short break for our "get-together" first anniversary.

Bintan (Bintan Island), is the very few in Indonesia is the largest island, as early as Zheng He's records had been mentioned in the island. From Singapore due to close, take the ferry only 45 minutes. You won't feel out of Singapore even when you arrived Bintan Island, as Sing-lish is still pretty much in the air.

We departed on the 26th of September at 12.10pm. Hopped onto bus 35 at Tanah Merah mrt after a long wait of 20 minutes! Actually you should wait at Bedok mrt instead, as there is a bus timing display board (not sure what it is called) when we returned from Bintain and alighted there. The bus arrival time is shown in the board, it would be useful as you can sit and relax.

Well, you'll see a funny looking demon king mask-over in the next few pictures, as someone said himself is consider a celebrity in the blogging community, so I shall not show his "real life" picture in my blog to maintain his reputation, ahem.

We arrived at the ferry terminal in preparation for starting the Bintan it!
See, Munkey was so happy to get away from tonnes of work and annoying errands. We reached one and half hour prior to the departure time as requested.

The ferry terminal in-house. 'll Remember to bring a passport, because you are departing from Singapore to Indonesia Oh.
The terminal is well built like mini airport, looks organized, spacious and clean. I encountered some wooden ramshackle jetties during trips to Phuket Island, Gaya Island (Sabah) and Manukan Island (Sabah) few years back, I believe they should be better now .

Ferry is very comfortable, the facilities should have. The hungry can go to the counter to buy food, the price of 3 yuan more than that I am talking about a cup noodles, Singapore 3. For ferry information, please visit the Bintan Resort Ferries website or order.
Ferry fare to Bintan Island would actually burn a huge hole in your pocket. Departure on weekends (from Friday to Sunday) is considered "Peak Period Counter Fare", one person has to pay SGD59.20 for one way, SGD118.40 for return ticket, you can log onto their website to have a clearer picture.

Finally arrived at the Bintan! Ferry terminal at Bintan Island.

We stayed at the Nirwana hotel has free shuttle terminals.
Free terminal transfer service by Nirwana Garden Resort.

Yellow Pear juice drink it rest.
Welcome drink upon arrival. The resort looks like 5-stars, however I heard it was 4, I wonder how they rate it.

People were checking in, waiting time was around 10 minutes. Pass.

The hotel provides free shuttle bus service, if you find it useful, click on the image to download it.
Free shuttle bus to inter-resorts, like Nirwana Garden Resort, Mayang Sari Beach Resort, Nirwana Beach Club, Banyu Biru Villa and Indra Maya Villa, as well as bus schedule for ferry terminal transfer.

The hotel rooms will not be great, nor is it very small, that there was a balcony next door, we did not. Hotels use the centralized air-conditioning, even if it has closed its air-conditioned room is very cold, but can not open a window, Shao Ledian should resort-style beach.
We were staying at the Superior Room, weekends (Fri-Sat) is S $ 185 , weekdays (Sun-Thur) is S $ 135 . So for this 3 days 2 nights trip, which was stretched from check-in (Sat ) To check-out (Mon), we paid around SGD330 for room charge.

Blue sky, feel good!

The sea bottom is clear. The beach sand they have thin, bare feet away feeling very soft and smooth. The sand, and the Sentosa compared to days and it is.

There are beautiful scenery, and ultimately, beautiful hungry demons.

In the room to rest for a while, about 4:00 or so we'll walk around the hotel. At 5:00, after about playing on the guns and archery, position it well, Ha ha.
Air rifle is charged at SGD8 for 25 bullets, which is consider reasonable. We played archery as well, it was charged at SGD8 for 25 arrows.

A dinner!
Late lunch / early dinner at resort's Coffee Shop. This mocktail was nice, charged at SGD5.

We have two points Indonesian meal taste good.
We paid over SGD30 for the dinner.

I have read in Kuala Selangor fireflies, but still felt a need to look at this in 2003 had access to the Asia-Pacific region's eco-tourism Gold mangrove night how the fireflies.
We missed the 3pm Mangrove tour, so decided to go for Firefly watching at 7.30pm local time. Paid SGD38 per person.

1, 10 on board!

Although vast darkness of the river bed, but it has fully covered the sky lit up the road. The kind of shock refused to let his eyes closed, afraid of the stars of the sky will go into hiding since then. For a long time for a long time, too neck ache, and ushered in front of the melody is a flashing light of fireflies, which are fully covered with mangrove forests throughout the spectacular scenes. Looking back at the sky over the Galaxia, the river bed of clouds on Earth is the "star" Firefly, which is how unforgettable what.

It is said that fireflies only 14 days, but only in unpolluted river, with the development of the city, fireflies have gradually disappeared. The whole experience, I can say is that the camera can capture really right and wrong, non-ink can be described only carefully and see for themselves how, darkness, the river and quiet of the mangrove forests, as well as the nature of the shock.
The chart is from the Internet to find, is not very close to what I have read the "spectacular Starship" tour.

Please pay attention to a few days Wan Jiepian Weekend Bonanza - Bintan (2) Bintan trip, we have to play a sport utility vehicle All Terrain Vehicles it!

Plans to leave

Sep 18

There is about 21 days of annual leave, a good plan until next year by the end of August the trip.

Do not want to waste at home sleeping. Well just want to walk out air.

New Year has already bought air tickets to go home, go back to a total of 7 days, please just 4 days annual leave.

Then, would like to spend 10 days to walk away places such as Britain or Italy or Egypt or Tibet, please believe that only 8 days annual leave.

Would like to spend months, 7 days to go near that place, such as Taiwan or Japan or Australia in the south, it should also please just 5 days annual leave.

A wish to spend three or four days, closer to the local shopping, a waste of money to reward themselves, such as Vietnam or Thailand or the Philippines.

21 days is not enough like them.
